HB 1047 modifies the Government Code to expand the list of optional state holidays. The bill adds All Saints’ Day, Lunar New Year, Dashera, Vaisakhi, Vesak, Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha, one day of the Diwali festival, and one day of Passover as selectable holidays for state employees, alongside existing optional holidays like Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, and Good Friday.
