HB 1370 provides an ad valorem tax exemption for the increase in the appraised value of real property resulting from the use of xeriscaping. This exemption would only take effect for tax years beginning January 1, 2026, if voters approve a constitutional amendment authorizing the legislature to exempt this added property value​.
