HB 1772 amends the Transportation Code to increase the penalties for violations related to the operation of vehicles at railroad grade crossings. Specifically, it raises the fines for disregarding warnings given by a flagger at such crossings. The minimum fine increases to $100, and the maximum fine rises to $400. These changes apply to offenses committed on or after the bill’s effective date, September 1, 2025.
