HB 2635 authorizes counties and municipalities to require automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in certain buildings for emergency preparedness. The ordinance can specify which structures must comply, but health facilities and buildings with an occupancy limit of 30 or fewer people are exempt. Local governments cannot charge application or inspection fees for AED compliance but may inspect for enforcement purposes.
