HB 2676 requires certain licensed professionals, including chiropractors, massage therapists, and cosmetologists, to complete training in identifying abnormal skin growths, including melanoma, as part of their licensing requirements. License holders who complete the coursework will be authorized to refer individuals to medical professionals for potential skin cancer concerns, but they and their employers will be protected from civil or criminal liability for acting in good faith or failing to act on such information. The bill specifies that this provision does not expand the licensee's scope of practice or create a new cause of action against them.
