Digest
HB 2735 prohibits e-cigarette advertising within 1,000 feet of churches and schools by amending the Health and Safety Code. The bill extends existing restrictions on cigarette and tobacco product advertisements to include e-cigarettes. The distance is measured from the nearest property line of the church or school to the closest point on a street or highway where the advertisement is located. Signs placed before September 1, 1997, and located at least 500 feet away from churches or schools are exempt.
