HB 3337 increases the frequency of required safety inspections for elevators, escalators, and related equipment from annual to semiannual. The bill updates the Health and Safety Code to mandate two inspections per year in accordance with American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) standards. It also grants regulatory agencies the authority to require reinspections when violations persist and establishes penalties for noncompliance.
