HB 3423 directs The University of Texas System to study the feasibility of integrating additional nuclear energy facilities into Texas’ electric grid. The study will compare the costs and benefits of nuclear fusion and nuclear fission reactors. The findings must be submitted to the legislature by September 1, 2026, and the act expires on December 1, 2026.
