HB 4644 reduces the criminal penalty for cockfighting. It changes certain offenses related to owning or training fighting birds from a state jail felony to a Class A misdemeanor and offenses related to spectating or betting on fights from a Class A to a Class C misdemeanor. These changes apply only to offenses committed on or after September 1, 2025.
