HB 5291 requires public institutions of higher education to report incidents of sexual assault occurring within a two-mile radius of their campuses. Every two years, institutions must submit data on sexual assault rates and a detailed plan to reduce these incidents. The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board will compile these reports and provide recommendations to the legislature.
