HB 5322 directs the Teacher Retirement System of Texas to issue a one-time supplemental benefit payment to eligible retirees and beneficiaries. The payment is capped at the lesser of the retiree’s monthly annuity or $3,000 and is contingent on legislative appropriation. The bill excludes disability retirees with less than 10 years of service, deferred retirement option plan participants, and certain survivor beneficiaries​.
