HB 5439 limits the liability of alcohol beverage providers by prohibiting intoxicated persons or their estates from suing establishments for injuries or death resulting from their own intoxication. It also removes the availability of exemplary (punitive) damages in such cases but preserves the right of third parties to bring lawsuits.
