HB 5598 enacts broad labor and family policy changes, including raising the state minimum wage to $15 per hour, requiring the state to conduct a biennial study on the cost of living, expanding subsidized child care for families with incomes at or below 250% of the federal poverty level, and mandating 60 days of paid parental leave for employees of businesses with 50 or more employees. It also prohibits employment retaliation against workers who take parental leave.
