HB 5632 amends the Employees Retirement System of Texas (ERS) rules to allow retirees receiving optional service or disability retirement annuities to change their designated beneficiary after retirement. Spousal consent or a court order is required if the original beneficiary was a spouse. The new beneficiary can only receive payments based on the retiree's remaining life expectancy at retirement​.
