HJR 193 proposes a constitutional amendment to eliminate certain restrictions on landowners seeking agricultural-use tax appraisals. Specifically, it removes the requirement that land must be devoted to agricultural use for a specified period before qualifying for agricultural appraisal, and it repeals the additional rollback tax imposed when agricultural land is converted to non-agricultural use. If approved by the Legislature, this amendment would take effect on January 1, 2026, and be submitted to voters in the November 4, 2025, election.
