SB 1072 allows pregnant individuals to vote by mail if they will be in the second or third trimester on election day. It modifies Section 82.002 of the Election Code, which currently permits mail-in voting for individuals with disabilities or those expecting to give birth within four weeks before or after election day. The bill extends eligibility to include anyone in their second or third trimester of pregnancy​.
