SB 1108 broadens the criminal offense of unlawful production or distribution of sexually explicit deepfake content. The bill modifies Section 21.165 of the Penal Code to expand its application from deepfake videos to all types of sexually explicit visual material. It criminalizes the creation or electronic distribution of deepfake images, videos, or other visual content depicting an individual’s intimate parts or sexual conduct without consent.
