Digest
SB 1932 amends Section 607.056 of the Texas Government Code to create a presumption that an acute myocardial infarction (heart attack) or stroke suffered by a firefighter, peace officer, or emergency medical technician (EMT) occurred within the course and scope of employment if it results in disability or death. The bill specifies that this presumption applies if the incident occurs while the individual is on duty and involved in physically or mentally stressful activities, or within eight hours of completing such activities.
