SB 1969 provides a waiver of license renewal fees for certain instructors teaching high-demand fields at public institutions of higher education in Texas. The bill applies to faculty members or adjunct professors teaching subjects that require professional licensing, including nursing, pharmacy, radiologic technology, respiratory care, engineering, plumbing, HVAC, electrical work, and bilingual or special education teaching. Under this bill, state agencies that issue professional licenses must waive the renewal fee for these instructors if they provide instruction in the same field for which the license is required.
