SB 1983 prohibits the manufacture, sale, and distribution of any product developed using mRNA technology for the prevention or treatment of communicable diseases. The bill broadly applies to all vaccines and therapeutics containing messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA), effectively banning the sale and administration of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines in Texas.
