SB 2150 mandates coordination between medical schools and teaching hospitals regarding the placement of students in clerkships and clinical rotations. It requires written agreements between medical schools and hospitals, prohibits teaching hospitals from charging out-of-state students more than in-state students for placements, and establishes priority placement rules favoring students from the hospital’s local community and Texas residents​.
