SB 2315 exempts advanced nuclear reactors from certain transmission interconnection cost requirements under the ERCOT grid. While traditional generation facilities must cover costs exceeding designated transmission allowances, advanced nuclear reactors—including large reactors (400-1400 MW), small modular reactors (50-400 MW), and microreactors (under 50 MW)—will be exempt from this rule. The goal is to promote investment in next-generation nuclear energy by reducing financial barriers.
