SB 2327 allows water supply or sewer service corporations operating in the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) power region to register as power generation companies and sell electricity to generate revenue. The revenue can only be used for the corporation’s operational costs or for purposes outlined in existing Water Code provisions.
