SB 2370 requires the Texas Comptroller to notify school districts if their local property value assessments are determined to be invalid in the annual study of taxable property values. If a school district’s property value is deemed invalid, the Comptroller, in consultation with the Texas Education Agency, must estimate the district’s lost revenue due to the state-assigned valuation being used instead of the local appraisal district’s valuation. This estimate must be provided to the school district's board of trustees to help them understand the financial impact. The bill applies to property value studies beginning in tax year 2026
