SB 2474 creates a property tax credit for grocery stores and healthy corner stores operating in designated food deserts. The credit is equal to 5% of the property taxes imposed on the store and applies as long as the area remains classified as a food desert based on U.S. Census data. Store owners must apply for the credit through their local appraisal district​.
