SB 2495 prohibits manufacturers of voting systems used in Texas elections from contracting, extending, or renewing contracts for software development services with companies or individuals based in China, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, or Venezuela. The restriction applies to all voting machine software used in elections ordered on or after September 1, 2025.
