SB 2560 imposes new restrictions on issuing no-knock warrants. It prohibits magistrates from issuing such warrants except under strict conditions, requiring approval from a law enforcement agency’s chief administrator and mandating that officers executing the warrant be in uniform. It also limits the authority to issue no-knock warrants to district court judges, statutory county court judges, and certain other magistrates in counties lacking these courts.
