SB 2746 requires the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) to conduct a study on driver’s license service wait times in counties with populations exceeding 850,000. The study must assess the average time between appointment scheduling and the first available date, as well as the average wait time at DPS offices. DPS must submit a final report with recommendations to reduce wait times by December 1, 2026. The bill expires January 1, 2027.
