SB 2905 eliminates the statute of limitations for personal injury lawsuits arising from specific offenses committed against children or disabled individuals. It amends the Civil Practice and Remedies Code to remove the existing time limits for bringing civil suits related to sexual assault of a child, aggravated sexual assault of a child, continuous sexual abuse of a child or disabled individual, human trafficking involving sexual exploitation, compelling prostitution of a child or disabled individual, indecency with a child, improper educator-student relationships, online solicitation of a minor, failure to report aggravated sexual assault of a child, sexual performance by a child, possession or promotion of child pornography, and electronic transmission or possession of lewd material depicting a child. The bill ensures that victims can bring lawsuits at any time, regardless of when the offense occurred.
