SB 953 amends the Civil Practice and Remedies Code to limit eligibility for pre-suit depositions. It allows individuals to request depositions only if they have sustained or can reasonably expect to sustain actual damages. Violations of this eligibility requirement make the petitioner liable for the deponent's attorney’s fees.
