HB 64 prohibits political subdivisions from spending public funds to hire lobbyists or pay organizations that employ them. It makes exceptions for information sharing by elected officials and public employees acting without lobbyist registration. Residents may sue violators and recover legal fees. It also modifies the rules for county association dues under Local Government Code ยง89.002.
