SB 1068 strengthens restrictions on intercollegiate athletic competitions based on biological sex. The bill mandates that out-of-state colleges and universities may only compete against Texas public institutions in intercollegiate sports if they certify compliance with Texas’ existing sex-based sports participation requirements. The certification must be submitted 30 days before the scheduled competition. This law applies beginning with the 2025-2026 academic year.
