HB 3186 prohibits intercollegiate athletic teams from competing against out-of-state institutions unless the out-of-state team certifies that it complies with Texas’ restrictions on athletic participation based on biological sex. The bill applies to competitions starting in the 2025-2026 academic year and mandates certification at least 30 days before the event.
