Texas Policy Research President Jeramy Kitchen will participate in Grassroots America – We the People’s evening meeting on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, in Tyler.

The program, “The Texas Property Tax Showdown: After Three Decades of Debate,” will examine the continuing debate over property tax relief and elimination in Texas ahead of the 90th Texas Legislature. The discussion will address competing approaches to property tax reform, what would be required to move toward eliminating property taxes, the state’s role in local property values and taxation, and opportunities to improve accountability for local government spending.

The event will be held at the Holiday Inn Tyler Conference Center, 5701 S. Broadway Ave. Food and fellowship begin at 5:00 p.m., with the meeting scheduled from 6:15 to 8:30 p.m. Attendance is free, and membership and reservations are not required. The $15 Buffet line opens at 5:00 PM for those wishing to dine.
