HB 122 eliminates certain STAAR exams and end-of-course assessments (such as U.S. History and English II) that are not required by federal law. It restricts testing to the minimum needed for compliance with the Every Student Succeeds Act and allows for exemptions if students meet Texas Success Initiative (TSI) benchmarks.
