HB 155 provides a 100% property tax exemption for the residence homesteads of Texans aged 72 or older who have held a homestead exemption for at least 10 years. Surviving spouses 55 and older can maintain the exemption if they remain in the homestead. Implementation is contingent on voter approval of a constitutional amendment in 2025.
