The Texas House Subcommittee on Transportation Funding will hold an interim hearing on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Nueces Room I in the Solomon P. Ortiz Center, 402 Harbor Drive, Corpus Christi, Texas.
The subcommittee will examine the formulas, funding categories, and discretionary funding used by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to allocate money for the planning and construction of transportation projects.
Lawmakers will evaluate whether existing transportation revenues are adequate to meet projected needs and consider recommendations to improve funding allocation methodologies and transparency. The subcommittee will also assess whether to continue the County Transportation Infrastructure Fund grant program and examine its benefits for rural road infrastructure and public safety.
Invited and public testimony will be heard. The chair may limit public testimony to two minutes per witness. Registration to testify will be available on-site, and a live video broadcast will not be available.
