HB 123 prohibits political subdivisions and private entities that receive state funds from using those funds to pay for lobbying or hire registered lobbyists, including affiliated individuals or firms. It tightens existing restrictions under Government Code §556.0055 and expands coverage to indirect lobbying through associations.
