Digest
HB 127 prohibits political subdivisions from using public funds to hire lobbyists or pay associations that employ them. It also repeals Local Government Code §89.002 and provides for taxpayer enforcement, including injunctive relief and reimbursement of legal costs. Commissioners court members may still serve on certain boards but may not spend public funds on association memberships in violation of the law.
