HB 42 establishes a legal defense against prosecution for possession of certain consumable hemp products. Individuals are protected if they possess a product labeled as legal hemp but which is later found to contain unauthorized levels of controlled substances or marijuana, so long as they purchased it from a retailer they reasonably believed to be authorized.
