HB 83 prohibits political subdivisions from using public funds to hire registered lobbyists or to pay organizations that employ them. It allows local residents to sue violators and recover attorney’s fees. The bill also amends county government laws to enforce compliance and voids existing contracts that violate the new restrictions.
