HB 1045 revises the Insurance Code to mandate health benefit plan coverage for chemical dependency treatment on par with physical illnesses. It broadens the applicability of such coverage, removes certain exceptions, prohibits lifetime caps on treatment, and directs the adoption of new care standards by relevant authorities. The changes apply to plans issued or renewed on or after January 1, 2026.
