HB 1166 modifies rules governing the re-employment of retirees under the Teacher Retirement System of Texas by providing exemptions from certain contributions required of employers for retirees filling temporary positions when no other candidates are available. It applies retroactively to retirees regardless of their retirement date and takes effect for the 2025–2026 school year.
