HB 1185 requires landlords to provide tenants written notice of proposed rent increases at least seven days before the tenant’s deadline to provide notice to vacate. If the landlord fails to comply, penalties include a prohibition on rent increases for a specific period and a monetary penalty of $100 recoverable by the tenant.
