HB 1271 modifies the Penal Code regarding the affirmative defense for the offense of indecency with a child. It removes the requirement that the actor and victim be of opposite sexes, provided the actor is not more than three years older than the victim, did not use force, and does not have a lifetime sex offender registration requirement or a prior conviction under this offense.
