HB 1524 proposes amendments to the Texas Property Code under the Texas Fair Housing Act. It introduces a new definition for a "bona fide offer," which specifies an offer made in good faith without deceitful intentions and legally binding on the parties, inclusive of a lump sum offer or earnest money deposit. Additionally, the definition of "dwelling" is updated to include structures intended or used as residences, with a certificate of occupancy, as well as vacant land marketed for the construction of such structures.
