HB 1628 facilitates the transfer of public school students who are children of peace officers. It requires school districts to approve transfer requests unless the receiving school or district has reached full capacity or has more transfer requests than available spots. The bill also prohibits tuition fees for these transfers and applies beginning with the 2025-2026 school year.
