HB 1691 expands the types of cancers eligible for benefits or compensation claims by firefighters and emergency medical technicians under the Government Code. The list now includes additional cancers recognized as related to exposure to carcinogens through firefighting or emergency medical work, based on determinations by the International Agency for Research on Cancer.
