HB 1751 prohibits candidates from applying for a place on the general primary election ballot with more than one political party in the same election year. Applications violating this rule must be rejected without refunding filing fees, and violators are disqualified from appearing on the ballot in the following general election as independent candidates, nominees of another party, or write-in candidates for the same office. The secretary of state is directed to implement procedures for this prohibition.
