HB 1786 mandates the establishment of a women’s health advisory committee by the executive commissioner of the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. The committee will provide recommendations on women’s health programs and include members primarily composed of healthcare providers experienced in women’s health services from various geographic areas of Texas. The committee must be established by December 1, 2025, with certain provisions expiring on September 1, 2026.
